Journal December 2025 & Jan 2026
At the 21st of December a new year started in the Garden of Nâm with the Feast of the Lesser Light. A joyful occasion symbolised by the returning of the sun and the gradual lengthening of the days. Yes, we still have to endure the colder days of the winter period but with a warm feeling and a enlightened heart. The wood stoves are burning again, providing a cosy atmosphere to the meditation and the living room.

A few days later we were surprised by a ultimately rare hailstorm that provided us with a white Christmas. The recent protection against locus for our vegetable gardens on field 8, build with the help of our neighbour Mustafa, endured the first hailstorm in over a 100 years as we heard. Thick layers of frozen snow weighted heavy on the nets and the structure collapsed. The entire family came to help restore and strengthen the vegetable safehouse and they made it into an even more beautiful contribution to the garden.

In 2023 Yoginâm designed an art-piece in the Garden of Nâm as object for contemplation: The Triad. A beautiful triangular staircase that connects the lower parts of the garden with the higher fields. Yoginâm indicates:

The two sharp angles one on the ground and the other in the sky symbolise respectively the being and the not-being. Both angels in equal manner exist only thanks to non-being, which is the static corner of 90 degrees. Ascending the steps may lead to surprising inspirations.
Now a new piece of contemplative art was designed by Yoginâm (2025), build as a Arabic-style bench & table, providing a spacious corner for guests to sit and contemplate: The Round Table.

About The Round Table Yoginâm writes:
Witnessing the Round table presents the observer with
the dilemma that things may not always be
what they appear to be.
We gladly invite you to come and experience these unique tools for exploration!

Two Nâm courses are also new. Before they were only in Asharum Amonines. Now The Essence of Meditation and Meaningful Living are also offered in the Garden of Nâm. No explanation needed, the titles indicate precisely what these Nâm course are about.

Also new are the Wellness Retreats with Ullrich Zimmermann. Uli, our most recent resident, is a licensed massage therapist who combines physical exercises and massages in 3 or 5 day retreats. Healthy food, daily meditations and the tranquility of the Garden support this period of harmonising the physical condition, optimising posture and function of the body.

And last but not least we would like to announce a new format for the monthly newsletter. Up until now you we have kept you updated mainly about actual developments in Asharum Amonines and in The Garden of Nâm. The new version of the newsletter will contain more variation. We will still keep you informed about living in the Garden of Nâm and in Asharum Amonines. But we will also keep you updated on new courses, highlight books, texts, talks and videos and dive deeper into the essence of LivingNâm.

Spring symbolises the birth of new life. The first new edition of our newsletter is expected to be released on the 21st of March. See you then! Or maybe even sooner, live, in the Garden of Nâm!
