Newsletter Nijar, April Edition 2025
Dear Friends,
During the last month spring has officially opened its gates, allowing its promise to burst out to be expressed in all aspects of life. This transition however was dressed in an abundant rainfall that gently and during several weeks quenched all possible thirst of the flora and fauna, used to the harsh and arid conditions of the semi-desert landschap. The result is a garden that is unusually green. Blossoms, frogs, fruit and herbs bear witness of this abundance. We will be able to reap a lot of mulch that will help us to feed and enrich the soil and keep its moist during the hotter days that gradually will come and remain till the end of august.
March was a quieter month for us with little events on the agenda. Looking back we see a pattern that puts a smile on our face. Several bookings came in for a week long stay and all of these guests lengthened their period of being here with a day or three. And still finding it to short… We are really happy to witness the appreciation and the flow of well being that comes along with that.

All guests have different reasons to come, stories to tell and discoveries to make. Their company colours the atmosphere in a variety of ways. Indeed, it is the harmony of the differences that is the richness of life.1 One of our guests brought with her a camera and dived into the macro world that exists in the Garden mostly as an unseen reality and made some beautiful pictures some of which she kindly shared with us, along with a few words about her stay.
In this months Journal we joyfully present her contribution along with that of a participant who came for a special men’s retreat with music, movement & meditation. Both guests arrived here for the first time and each have their own way of sharing their impressions. We hope that you will enjoy this months edition in and between word and in image.

Being present in de Garden of Nâm – by Rianne van den Heuvel
Very recently I spent 10 days at The Garden of Nâm for a Peaceful Holiday Retreat. Thank you, Yoginâm for allowing me to attend the Gathering and the Private HarpMood, monks and staff of The Garden of Nâm for the warm welcome that I felt and experienced. Meditating together. Enjoying the delicious and nutritious meals in silence. The joy and laughter while doing the dishes. The inspiring conversations that arose, sometimes completely unexpectedly. The educational moments. Together you create a place where people can Be with what is, in the moment. The garden, a green oasis due to the heavy rain, was a source of inspiration for peace and quiet and also for creativity. That beauty, seen in my own way, I have captured in images.

Simplicity, natural living and harmony – by Cees Warmer
My first visit to the Garden of Nâm and the Hermitage in Níjar made a great impression. The location radiates peace, serenity and quality in every respect, within which there is room for the beauty of simplicity, natural living, and harmony. The principles described in the books of Yoginâm are not felt here as words on paper, but as living proof that their resonance works through in Soul and brings peace to Mind and Body. Spirit is given space to let go of old beliefs.
For me, this process took place during the Men’s Retreat given by Alexander. With drum, rhythm, steps, sound and meditation, the male energy was balanced. A special experience to work with men alone for once. Recommended. The nature in the garden and the meditative walks in the morning and evening also did a lot to soften my inner unrest and to calm it down more while impressions became increasingly more vivid emotionally. The trip to Níjar really did something. Certainly because of the meetings with permanent residents and the care they provide during the stay. Also other guests who each color their stay in a different way give rise to interesting exchanges and growth. In short, a place where something happens on an unconscious level that makes a noticeable difference when you go home after 10 days. Actually, I didn’t want to leave anymore.
The three days of transition in Granada to the everyday world gave just that little bit extra. As if the HarpMood of Yoginâm worked through in the way the world resonated. Every thought and wish manifested itself with miraculous simplicity. I recommend reading the book Ismael by Yoginâm to everyone. Together with the insights from the book SIWEB, a world full of ABBAH opened up for me. Warm greetings
