Week of Silence

Days of silence and meditation in the Garden of Nâm
A SIMPLE RHYTHM   ·   A BEAUTIFUL PLACE   ·   LISTENING TO SILENCE

“In Peaceful Acknowledgement the only thing
that is left to do is listening
to the Silence with an open heart.”
— Yoginâm

An Invitation

There are times when it can be valuable to withdraw for a while from the continuous movement of everyday life.

The Week of Silence offers such an opportunity.

For a number of days you are invited to stay in the Garden of Nâm and enter into the simplicity of silence and meditation.

There are no teachings, talks, singing or chanting. During the day there are five opportunities to join in meditation. Beyond these few moments that give a gentle rhythm to the day, there is no programme to follow.

Walk through the Garden. Find a quiet terrace. Read or rest. Spend time alone. Enjoy the mountains and the changing light. Or simply sit somewhere and listen to the silence.

There is nowhere you need to go and nothing in particular you need to achieve.

The days are simply lived in silence.

Listening to Silence

“Silence is to be discovered. Once it is, it becomes a new zero point from where your life will be more in harmony and stress and anxiety are avoided.

Once discovered, Silence needs to be nurtured in order to remain an abundant source of inspiration for finding ways and solving problems both in outer and in inner life.

Observing a few days of silence is a way to nurture it, to feed it and to groom it as the ever-living source from which you create your life.”

— Yoginâm

The Garden of Nâm lies at the foothills of the Sierra Alhamilla, close to the traditional Andalusian village of Níjar.

Over the years, what was once largely barren land has grown into an abundant Mediterranean garden, with secluded paths, terraces and places for contemplation.

The guest rooms are individual one-room houses, built in the traditional style of the area. They offer privacy while opening towards the Garden, allowing you to withdraw into silence while remaining surrounded by the life and beauty of the place.

The group is deliberately kept small, allowing the atmosphere to remain quiet and intimate.
